once again it's Friday to share my Friday sew & tell over at amylouwho finished project! Thanks for all the love you all shared last week!
I am sharing a quilt that I started months ago, way before I got my new Bernina 630, I got the idea from Amanda at Crazy Mom Quilts) ragged edge quilt, I made it fairly small at first, just like she did on her blog, but as soon as Jim saw this quilt being made, he kept saying "make it bigger!" The quilting on this quilt was a son of a gun with all the turning inside each square, I started hating this quilt when I was quilting it, now the quilt is done, I am in LOVE with the quilt now, I gave it to Jim for his birthday because, what do you get the guy who buys himself everything he wants during the year? he loves it too! yay! after I washed and dried the quilt and HAND BINDED the darn thing, I am in love with it, the texture is wonderful, I LOVE my binding. I love everything about this quilt and am very glad it is done! not sure I will ever quilt another quilt this same way unless it's a baby quilt LOL
Here is an upclose of the ragged edges, it's soooo soft!
Here is the backing flipped over so you can see it :) this ended up being an expensive quilt LOL
and my binding, ooooh I love the binding!
I just need to think of a name for this quilt and possibly add a label, I have a few ideas, just not sure yet :)
Thats it here really, just lots of school and being busy, but Zach and I both go on spring break this week! except he gets two weeks off and I get one.
It's beautiful out here in AZ, it's bright and sunny and a touch of warmth :) all the bees and birds and blooms are in abundance.
Hugs!
wow! oh wow! this is the prettiest quilt! the colors are awesome and I can feel the softness from here!
just love the story behind it too! you guys enjoy yourselves, do fun stuff together and send the sunshine and warmer temps our way!
love, love, love the quilt!
